4 10 SUPREME GOLD (CH205) O Doleuze TT Began in line, ended up in coveted 1 out 1 back spot, suited by slow tempo, right there on turning, kept grinding away and held on strongly to make frame.
5 1 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) D Whyte B/TT Away with rest, slotted in to midfield role 3 to 4Ls back in 2 wide line, raced a bit keenly in mid-section, made a 3 wide run from 500 M, looked a chance on turning however peaked on run last 200 M.
6 3 SING FAY FAY (CE074) K T Yeung B/TT Standard beginning, raced 5Ls back on rails, travelled keenly with slow speed, angled 2 wide passing 500 M, into clear on turning, and closed hard in straight to be closest at finish. (See Racing Incidents - explanation reported.)
7 6 LUCKY CHAMPION (CD178) M Du Plessis -- Began with them, settled 3Ls back along inside, had an easy time with slow tempo, saved ground on bend, struggled to improve at 500 M when they dashed, just held ground in straight.
8 12 THREE CLUBS (CG149) M Nunes -- Taken back from an outside gate, posted 4 wide 6Ls back, pace against in mid-section and made a fast move at 700 M, 3 wide challenging leaders by 400 M, couldn't sustain run and dropped out last furlong.
9 14 MAGIC TEMPLE (CC368) W M Lai PC2/TT Restrained from gate, ended up back with last few 8Ls away on rails, harmed by steady pace at top end, produced a good finish in straight making good ground from an impossible spot.
10 8 CAGA BOY (CG060) Y T Cheng -- Bounced out well, pressed forward however posted 3 wide without cover 3 to 4Ls back, helped by pace but couldn't make a run with others at 600 M, no extra in straight when hard run took toll.
11 5 HOLD HANDS (CH116) C K Tong B-/PC1 Restrained from a wide gate, raced 7 to 8Ls back at tail racing 2 wide, disadvantaged by tempo, lacked usual finish and simply beat tired horses in run to line.
12 13 BAYVIEW GREYSLEW (CJ194) C W Wong -- Began in line, settled behind midfield in running line 5Ls back, difficult to settle when not suited by pace, didn't find in stretch just battling to line.
13 7 NAMJONG FIGHTERS (CG308) M W Leung B Standard getaway, drifted back to race 6Ls away behind midfield, raced 3 wide but had cover throughout, difficult to settle, pace against and always covering ground, didn't produce a finish in straight.
