5 3 CLEAN SWEEP (CD323) W M Lai B Tardy into stride, outpaced early and hard ridden at rear 10Ls back, gradually tacked on, aided by tempo, still well back on bend, made good progress in straight under hands and heels to be nearest on line.
6 10 HOLI RAVIOLI (CG201) M Du Plessis -- Broke nicely, showed usual speed to challenge for early lead, kept working shading inside horse setting genuine tempo, struggling on turning, workload took toll and run ended at 200 M.
7 4 ISLAND SPEED (CG202) K L Chui B/TT Began with purpose, engaged in pace battle and drove through to lead, forced to work with pressure from outside horse, still held a 1L advantage turning, kicked to 200 M but effort told and faded out.
8 9 DOUBLE LUCK (CH239) B Prebble -- Began fairly, bumped at 1000 M, ended up in a 3-wide spot 4Ls away, did have cover but worked throughout, switched wider in straight, closed okay to 150 M but flattened thereafter.
9 11 JIANG JUN (CE281) C W Wong XB/TT Moderate getaway, settled 8Ls back on fence, ridden along to keep position, saved ground on bend, took inside runs turning, made even headway without looking likely.
10 8 TEAM WORK (CH276) Y T Cheng B Amongst first to break, steadied to obtain 1 out 1 back spot 2Ls away, shuffled back approaching bend, drifted out into centre of course, couldn't produce usual dash and struggled in straight.
11 7 WINDICATOR RETURNS (CJ191) H W Lai -- Standard getaway, jostled for a midfield spot at 1000 M, raced 4Ls back, had a suitable run with pace on but didn't produce a finish in straight.
12 6 CHATER POWER (CG312) G Boss B/TT Out in line, pressed on but unable to slot in, posted 3-wide without cover racing on a fast pace, struggling to sustain effort on bend, soon weakened after a hard run.
