2 8 BEST FRIEND (CH240) Y T Cheng B Settled in midfield along the inside rail, crept closer making the home turn, easily went into front near 250 M, looked to be coming to win 150 M out, kept on strongly but was just run down close to the line.
3 2 JACKPOT DELIGHT (CJ101) C Soumillon B Held up patiently 5Ls off the pace in a rearward position, travelled comfortably throughout, drifted out under pressure on straightening, ran on strongly inside 250 M but was hanging in and difficult to ride. Beaten narrowly.
4 9 CALIFORNIAMOUNTAIN (CG310) C K Tong TT Quickly into stride, took up running as usual under a steady tempo, had an uncontested lead to straight, ridden inside 400 M but inclined to hang out, had no chance with the first three but battled on gamely to hold on for 4th.
5 3 SIGHT WINNER (CJ049) D Whyte -- Unable to tuck in on jumping from a wide barrier, travelled wide in mid-division without cover, moved closer making the home turn, held every chance on straightening, kept on OK without threatening.
6 10 FEARLESS (CH301) J Victoire B- Behind midfield in a 2-wide position, well covered to bend and travelled comfortably throughout, lacked a turn of foot in his finish but stayed on OK towards the line.
7 1 PACKING WINNER (CE334) K T Yeung -- Broke well, tracked leader along the rail in a prominent position 1 back, shifted out passing 900 M to be 3-wide, ran on one-paced in the straight. (Jockey suspended for 9 racedays re his ride.)
8 4 EXCELLENT BOY (CE238) O Doleuze P Travelled in the rear trailing 7Ls to leader, had plenty to do on straightening, didn't really pick up under pressure, weakened final 150 M.
9 11 GREAT GUY (CH112) M Du Plessis TT Pressed on early to obtain a position one out one back from leader, struggled for pace approaching home straight, ridden out inside 400 M but failed to respond, gave ground from 200 M.
10 5 EVER BRIGHT (CG223) B Prebble B Slow to begin, quickly taken to the fence and raced at the back trailing 6 to 7Ls to leader, inconvenienced by the slow pace in middle stages, found nothing when pressed on in straight. Soundly beaten.
11 6 JOYFUL WINNER (CE045) C W Wong -- In a position better than midfield down the back straight, struggled to keep up from 800 M, made a wide turn and never got into contention in straight.
