2 4 FELLOWSHIP (CG292) Z Purton TT Had a smooth run in mid-division, switched wide turning in, picked up strongly and hit front inside 200 M, kept on but was picked off over the final stages. Ran a creditable race but the winner was too strong.
3 1 VIVA PATACA (CG096) D Beadman H Held up at the back of the field on the inside, 8Ls behind passing halfway, attempted a run down the inside and looked a possible winner near 200 M but appeared to have flattened out over the concluding stages.
4 3 ARMADA (CE246) M Du Plessis -- Prominent early before settling down in a better than midfield position, chased them throughout in the straight but, despite keeping on, couldn't pick up sufficiently to feature in the finish.
5 8 SIGHT WINNER (CJ049) K T Yeung -- Away with them, settled 4Ls back in midfield along the fence, had a relaxed trip to straight, had to switch several times inside 350 M for a clear run, ran on nicely.
6 11 UNIQUE JEWELLERY (CH196) O Doleuze -- Switched off to the rear on jumping, 9Ls away in middle stages, swung wide into home straight, stayed on OK giving some late impression.
7 5 HAWKES BAY (CG064) B Prebble XB 4Ls back in mid-division throughout, 2-wide turning in, ran on well early in straight and looked a danger near 250 M, but couldn't sustain his challenge late on.
8 9 EXPRESS WIN (CJ042) W C Marwing TT Ridden forward after the start, raced prominently in 3rd behind leaders, held every chance on straightening but his run peaked near 200 M, no extra close home.
9 2 PACKING WINNER (CE334) W M Lai -- Standard jump, rolled along the fence to settle in a forward position one back from leader, couldn't quicken when asked and could keep on one-paced only.
10 6 JOY AND FUN (CH014) J Lloyd CP Always in the front rank, vied for lead passing 800 M, pressed on from 350 M but found very little in the run to the line, dropped away inside 100 M.
11 10 REGENCY DRAGON (CH001) Y T Cheng B/TT First time over a mile. Took up the running as expected, had his lead challenged making the turn, swamped passing 200 M, weakened rapidly thereafter.
12 7 SUNNY KING (CH105) J Winks XB/H/TT In a rearward position along the fence, found nothing turning into straight, eased down. (Irregular heart rhythm 2nd time.)
