3 7 SURE GAIN (CJ038) W C Marwing H/TT Slotted into a 2-wide spot better than midfield but raced without cover in major parts of the race, well placed turning in and plugged on for 3rd.
4 11 NOBLE TWINS (CH257) W M Lai B Vied for the early lead before settling in 3rd passing 1600 M, gradually shuffled back to a midfield position down the back straight, steadied near 350 M but stayed on well to claim 4th.
5 3 LITTLE BIG BOY (CJ012) Z Purton CP/TT Broke well, soon took hold of a 2-wide position in midfield, pushed wide from 1300 M and went forward tracking leader, hit front early in straight but couldn't sustain effort over the final 200 M.
6 12 SUPER POWER (CH117) M Chadwick TT Given a waiting ride in a 2-wide position towards the rear, had 5Ls to make up turning in, made some headway but never looked likely from that position.
7 4 CHINSOLA (CD328) Y T Cheng -- Behind leaders in early stages before drifting back to midfield, looked promising early in straight but found no extra inside final 200 M.
8 2 SPRING SMILES (CG269) B Prebble B Eased to the rear on jumping, over 8Ls down in middle stages and was given a few reminders down the back straight, swung wide into straight and was again disappointing in the finish.
9 10 LAZY BUDDIES (CC208) M Du Plessis B Settled on the fence in a position behind midfield, shuffled back down the back straight and was last turning in, had 6Ls to make up but didn't pick up at all.
10 8 COME HO CHOI (CE082) M L Yeung B Attacked the lead from the outset but was caught wide making the 1st turn, crossed to lead near 1600 M, outpaced from 300 M as stamina appeared to give out.
11 1 COOL RUNNINGS (CK014) O Doleuze -- Settled better than midfield and never far off the pace, shaken up rounding the home turn but found nothing in reserves. Eased 100 M from home.
12 6 GENIUS MASTER (CJ117) H W Lai SR Used up early to obtain a forward position, sat in 3rd in middle stages, under serious pressure passing 500 M and was beaten early in straight. (Jockey questioned.)
