3 3 BESPOKE MASTER (CL227) D Whyte -- Stalked the leader along the paint. Kept on well over the concluding stages despite drifting out in the run to the line.
4 7 BROTHERS IN ARMS (CJ070) T Angland B Led along the fence from a wide gate. Went a steady gallop in front but commenced to shift out near the 150m & was collard over about the final 100m.
5 6 EN MASSE (CL398) D Beadman B Settled midfield 1 off with cover. Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the 400m, finished off well after obtaining clear running near the furlong.
6 10 ABLE DRAGON (CJ308) Z Purton B/TT Slow to begin settling at the rear along the rail. Kept to the inside in the final stretch and closed off soundly.

8 12 MACASSAR (CL382) J Lloyd B/SR2 Travelled worse than midfield the fence after beginning awkwardly. Only plodded to the line.
9 8 LOTUS LOVE (CL155) T H So V Settled 1 out 1 back. Was under hard riding after the 500m but couldn't quicken and never really responded.
10 9 FAST INTENTIONS (CL271) P Strydom B/TT Settled back in the field, 3 wide with cover. Peeled out to race 4 wide after the 500m, but failed to run on.
11 2 O'REILLY MAGIC (CJ134) K C Leung -- Faced the breeze 3 wide & without cover for most of the trip when travelling in a midfield position. Never likely.
12 11 SPARKLING (CK149) H W Lai CP Settled behind midfield, 2 deep with cover. Passing the 1200m, the saddle shifted forward, placing the rider at a considerable disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
