2 1 TAILWIND (CM103) Y T Cheng B Began well from a wide gate, able to get outside leader easily, 1L back throughout, joined in with eventual winner at 200m, just couldn't hold out late. Good effort.
3 2 ST FEVRE (CL002) O Doleuze TT Even getaway, posted 3 wide without cover throughout, 3Ls back improving on bend, kept finding and did well to stay with them after hard run and take a creditable 3rd.
4 3 FAMILISTS (CM102) K C Ng H Out well, took ideal position on leaders back, every hope in run, in behind them in straight but couldn't pick up when clear and just ground away to make frame.
5 4 SILVER GRECIAN (CL323) J Lloyd XB/TT Unbalanced on jumping, settled amongst last few 8Ls or so away in running line, began to improve turning in, made a decent impression in straight.
6 12 AFFLUENCE OF RAIN (CL363) B Prebble P1/TT Even getaway, assumed a midfield 4ls or so back, had every chance but didn't quicken as expected in straight, just held ground final 300m.
7 11 PIZZAZZ (CL145) G Cheyne H/TT Out with rest, raced midfield on rails 4-5Ls back, easy run to bend, stayed on at same pace in straight.
8 5 FLEET COMMAND (CK077) B Doyle SR Faded back as usual, raced 3 wide at rear 10ls back, came wide on turning, closed off best of rest final 300m making good ground to be nearest on line.
9 7 MANDARIN (CK372) T Angland -- Showed usual speed to take up running, uncontested lead in front, 1L clear to bend, overtaken at 300m and gave in easily, dropping off late.
10 13 ELEGANCE KLAMMER (CM228) W C Marwing H/TT Settled behind midfield on rails, 6Ls away in mid section, spent nothing to bend, didn't run on as in previous starts and just whacked away final 300m.
11 6 CAT STORM (CL082) M Chadwick TT Restrained form a wide gate, shared rear 9ls away on rails, plenty of work to do turning, took inside runs but made minimal ground.
12 14 INDIGO WAY (CM227) H W Lai -- Drifted back from an awkward alley, ended up 3 wide at rear 8ls back, set task when still well back turning, no impression.
13 10 KING OF REASON (CM154) W M Lai H Unable to slot in and ended up 3 wide behind midfield, had cover in mid section 6-7Ls back, overaced in mid section, dropped out final 300m.
14 8 ENHANCED (CL300) Z Purton B Positioned behind midfield, 7Ls away in 2 wide line, fair run to bend, struggling turning and unbalanced in action soon after, eased down late.
