3 8 PERFECT GEAR (CL014) C Y Ho -- Posted 3 wide from a wide alley, 3Ls or so back working with speed on, kept giving despite workload and maintained effort in straight to take a creditable 3rd.
4 1 MILITARY MOVE (CM077) D Beadman H/XB Settled in midfield 5ls or so away in 2 wide line, reasonable trip to bend, kept coming final 500m but didn't have extra final furlong to take a place.
5 11 GENE POWER (CM124) J Lloyd -- Tardy into stride, raced 6ls or so back on rails, quiet time mid section, in traffic turning, closed evenly once clear making some late progress.
6 14 PIZZAZZ (CL145) G Cheyne H/TT Settled 3 wide in midfield from wide draw, 5Ls or so away in mid section, worked a bit with decent pace on, made a bit of progress but peaked at 200m.
7 3 FULFIL A WISH (CL235) T Angland -- Away well, slotted into 1 out 1 back, fair run on back of decent speed, niggled turning, lacked usual fight and tired out of it final 250m.
8 5 EASY WINNER (CL138) H W Lai B Faded back from an outside alley, raced 3 wide at rear 7-8Ls back, helped by strong tempo, well back and widest on bend, passed a few tired ones late.
9 2 ST FEVRE (CL002) O Doleuze TT Ended up 3 wide behind midfield from a tricky alley, had cover 7Ls back to bend, came wide but unable to make real impact and just closed off at same speed.
10 6 PRETTY ONE (CL418) B Prebble TT Snagged back from a wide alley, further behind than usual sharing rear 7-8Ls away, still well back to bend, made only minor progress from difficult spot.
11 13 DANZULU (CJ069) K C Leung B Raced in rear division, 7Ls or so away in running line, paced helped but still job to do turning, swung wide but didn't have usual finish and just battled.
12 9 ABSOLUTE FANTASY (CM284) Y T Cheng B1 Checked early before settling in midfield 4-5Ls back on rails, used little in run, produced nothing in straight.
13 7 GOLDEN BAUHINIA (CK123) K C Ng B Showed plenty of sped to take up running, ran along at strong tempo, led to 250m before stopping quickly, faded right out.
