2 11 BUMPER STRIKE (CK395) D Whyte TT Caught a little wide early but managed to slot in and track the leader on the rails after the 1200m. Saved ground on the home turn, peeled out around 1 early in the stretch and stayed on well.
3 2 JOYFUL WINNER II (CM094) D Beadman B/H/TT Sent forward and led along the fence. Maintained a sound effort in the straight.
4 3 VIVA GUY (CK318) T H So -- Made its run from the tail of the field along the fence. Closed off well despite having to be steadied and taken out into clear running near the 100m.
5 12 JUGGERNAUT (CJ019) M Du Plessis B/XB Raced prominently establishing a position 1 off the fence, had cover. Peeled out after the 500m and commenced a run 3 deep. Paddled away in the home straight.
6 8 GOOD LOOKING WATCH (CL278) O Doleuze B- Went back from the outside gate and raced with the backmakers, 3 wide with cover. Made some late ground without threatening.
7 10 MINGS' HERO (CJ011) C W Wong SR Raced 3 back the fence. Had every chance but only plugged away in the run to the wire.
8 1 HOME WITH GLORY (CL171) B Doyle CP Settled behind midfield along the paint. Wouldn't settle at times, shifted out to race 1 off after the 800m. Never really quickened in the final stretch.
9 4 EMPIRE CITY (CL169) T Clark B Settled towards the rear, 2 deep with cover. Peeled out into a 3 wide line after the 500m but failed to run on.
10 5 TEAM WORK (CH276) B Prebble B Caught wide early without cover and after the 900m, went forward and crossed to race outside the leader near the 600m. Faded in the run home.
11 6 PANTHER RUN (CL140) H W Lai TT Travelled at the tail of the field, 1 off with cover. Struggled in the straight and was disappointing.
12 7 SEASONS CREST (CL355) J Lloyd B- Raced in a rearward position 3 wide. Lost its cover after the 700m, was taken wider on the circle and was never likely.
