3 8 BEAUTY TOUCH (N001) M Chadwick TT Away in line, in a prominent spot before lead changed and left in midfield on rails, 5ls away in mid section, gradually improved,
4 12 CARTHAGE (CL256) W M Lai SR/TT No early speed, ended up back with last few, raced 8-9Ls back on rails, angled clear at 400m and produced a strong finish from an impossible spot to make frame.
5 2 SMART GIANT (CL405) D Beadman XB/TT Worked across from a tricky draw to take ideal spot 1 out 1 back, left first outside leader from 1000m, edged closer on circle, chimed in strongly and kept on before losing place late.
6 13 LIBERATOR (CL240) C W Wong B/H/TT Began in line, worked across to challenge for front, took over by 1000m, kept speed even, headed at 400 M, battled gamely to be not far away at finish.
7 11 OLE OLE (CK301) T H So TT Drifted down to tail from a wide alley, nearly 10Ls off top end, saved ground on rails, made even progress in straight to be nearest on line.
8 3 OUTDOOR PEGASUS (CL173) N Callan TT Reasonable jump, ended up in 2nd half of field on rails, 6ls away to turn, made steady progress along inside to 200m but just held ground thereafter.
9 9 CARTOON FAY FAY (N014) H W Lai B1 Bounced out, took a hold to obtain cover, shuffled back on rails, to be 3ls or so back, right there on turning, offered little final 300m.
10 14 HEAR THE ROAR (CM152) K C Leung -- Faded back from an awkward alley, raced nearly 10Ls away 3 wide with cover, still near last turning, got passed only the tired ones.
11 1 LET ME HANDLE IT (CL287) C Y Ho TT Slotted into spot just behind midfield, fair run in mid section 6Ls or so away, tracked 3 wide with cover on bend, failed to dash as usual and just battled in straight.
12 10 SOVIET PEARL (CK187) M Du Plessis TT Little early speed, settled back with last few, raced 2 wide 10ls back to turn, no impression in straight.
13 7 RIO WILLIE (N087) M Barzalona SR1 Ended up behind midfield, 3 wide 8-9Ls back, niggled approaching bend, no dash in straight and just plugged away late.
