2 4 COSMIC BOOM (N019) B Prebble H/XB/TT Rolled to front with ease, set speed to suit to 400m, kicked strongly and defied rivals for a long way but no match for winner inside final furlong.
3 5 STERLING CITY (N152) W C Marwing -- Taken back from a wide gate, raced 6-7ls back racing 2 wide, gave a big start and gained clear running final 300m, reeled off strong sectionals to take placing.
4 11 PRETTY ONE (CL418) N Callan TT Took ideal trail behind the leader, nice trip to turn, produced and was second and a place chance at 200m, kept going with usual honesty and lost 3rd spot late.
5 7 MASQUERADER (N234) U Rispoli B Settled in back half of field when restrained from a wide gate, 6ls or so away in running line, made solid progress in straight to just miss frame.
6 10 CAPE CANAVERAL (N393) M Chadwick TT Slotted into nice position 1 out 1 back, all favours to bend, kept on soundly in straight but lacked extra gear final 200m to get amongst place getters.
7 2 VOILE ROUGE (CM343) C Y Lui B/TT Held up behind midfield. Saved ground along the fence, kept on same pace final 400M, never threatened.
8 13 LORD SINCLAIR (N447) R Fourie H Went on in search of spot but caught 3 wide without cover, did share of work and was 2ls back to bend, workload took toll and couldn't lift, tired inside 200m.
9 9 BOULD MOVER (CM120) G Mosse TT Showed customary speed to race outside leader, enjoyed even run on speed, still 2nd turning and there to 200m but dropped off thereafter.
10 6 ROMAN SOLDIER (N372) D Whyte B/H Ended up 3 wide around midfield, had cover 5ls back, switched out turning but didn't close as had done previously and made no extra ground inside 200m.
11 12 KING OF PATCH (N421) K C Ng B Taken to rails at rear, 6-7ls back, quiet time to turn, never threatened in straight passing only tired ones.
12 14 TOUCH GO (CL254) C K Tong -- Unable to slot in and forced to race 4 wide without cover in midfield, improved from 3-4ls back on bend, spent force at 300m.
13 1 RICH UNICORN (CL410) A Suborics -- Positioned in midfield 4-5ls back, very difficult to settle and ran out drift ing3 and 4 wide on bend, found nothing when asked in straight.
14 3 PIZZAZZ (CL145) K C Leung H-/B1/TT Ended up racing 3 wide at rear from a tricky draw, 6-7ls back, srill last turning and came widest, no response in stretch. (Blood in trachea)
