2 2 SUPER STRIKE (CL393) T Angland B Raced worse than midfield 2 deep with cover. Peeled out after the 500m and came wide on the home turn. Closed off nicely.
3 1 VICTORY MASCOT (CJ243) Z Purton B/TT Began only fairly, travelling third from the rear along the paint. Didn't have the easiest of passage rounding the home turn and in the straight. Finished off gamely.
4 6 KHARU (CK411) T H So B- Raced keenly in the early stages, settling 3 back the paint, had cover. Kept on satisfactorily.
5 9 KINGSTON SPARTACUS (CL116) T Queally -- Parked midfield, 2 deep with cover. Came under hard riding approaching the home turn but failed to respond, staying on one paced.
6 11 YOUNG HERO (CH071) M L Yeung -- Settled back in the field, 2 deep with cover. Swung the home turn widest but just whacked away at the same speed in the run home.
7 12 MOUNT VICTORY (CL033) H W Lai B/TT Camped in second last position, 1 off with cover. Only plodded to the finishing line.
8 8 HOLLYWOOD KISS (CM126) Y T Cheng B/TT Caught 3 deep without cover during the early & middle stages, in about a midfield position. Worked forward to race outside the leader near the 1200m. Faded in the home straight.
9 4 SHIFACHI TRADITION (CL013) T Clark B Settled in last position after having begun from the outside barrier, racing close to the rail, had cover. Never recovered after being checked near the 400m.
10 5 COMPACT YARN (CK377) A Suborics V Eventually settled 1 out 1 back near the 1200m. Weakened noticeable after the 300m.
11 7 TRES MAGNIFIQUE (CL367) R Fourie SR-/B2/TT Sent forward and lead at an even tempo along the paint. Railed up in the home straight but weakened quickly approaching the furlong.
12 3 BUDDY WATSON (P004) K C Leung H/CP1 Had every possible hope after box seating. Was under heavy pressure before the home turn and compounded in the straight. (To trial)
