7 13 BERLINI (P359) W M Lai H Began OK but began to race fiercely passing 1200m and then bumped. Covered extra ground turn, kept on steadily in straight before turning one-paced 200m.
8 11 GLORIOUS RYDER (P279) T Clark B/TT Began OK but restrained, dropping 4-back the rail along back stretch. Made forward move turning for home, kept on steadily before turning one-paced passing 200m.
9 2 LONGWAH SUPREME (CM293) O Doleuze TT Pressed forward from wide draw and raced 3-4 wide mostly without cover. Edged forward around turn, looked chance 400m before running on empty final stages.
10 8 FURIO (P399) J Moreira B Ridden forward to sit on hind-quarters of leader back stretch before moving alongside turning for home. Gave ground from 200m. (Substantial blood in trachea and declared a roarer).
11 14 DISCIPLES TWELVE (P018) C K Tong B Broke well, pushed forward from inside draw to sit in box seat back stretch and turn. Kept on well to 250m before tiring.
12 10 IMPERIAL CONCORDE (P425) C Reith -- Jumped fairly, outpaced and soon last along the rail. Trailed field to straight and ran past beaten horses.
13 4 PABLOSKY (S156) T Berry H/SR Began awkwardly, ridden to make ground settling in midfield. Edged forward around turn but found little in straight under hard riding.
14 6 PLEASANT KNIGHT (S311) B Prebble -- Bumped after start, recovered and pressed forward to sit 3-wide behind pacemakers. Under pressure from 600m and became tailed off in straight. (Unacceptable performance).
