2 2 PALACE PAL (G172) C L Chau -- Raced in midfield along the rail throughout. Was about 3L behind on straightening before closing well between runners passing the 200m & getting within a neck on the line.
3 10 NOBLE STEED (A326) M Chadwick B2 Drifted back & raced near the tail. Mover closer to lead passing 500m, shifted away from the rail approaching the corner, shifted wider on straightening before closing strongly down the outside to be beaten only half-length.
4 8 OUR CREED (D464) Z Purton V Began awkwardly, was taken inwards at winning post before getting good run on leaders back from the 1200m. Travelled well approaching corner before failing to run on in the straight & holding fourth. Below expectation.
5 5 PERFECT TO GREAT (D327) B Shinn TT Crowded & hampered at winning post first time before racing in midfield away from rail. Moved three wide to improve position near 500m, was 4 wide on straightening before giving a length or two to midfield in run to line.
6 11 LOTUS FAVORITES (E026) J Moreira H Began only fairly & drifted back to third last on rail. Moved away from the rail down back straight, entered last section 4L from lead, was the widest runner on straightening before finishing off only one paced.
7 9 ENCORE (E450) A Badel TT Steadied after the start & raced at the tail. Was 7L from the lead entering last section, stayed along the rail in straight before making up a few lengths when passing a few tiring rivals late.
8 7 FARSHAD (B238) A Hamelin B-/SR-/CP2 Pushed forward but raced very wide leaving the straight first time before improving to race outside the leader from the 1100m. Was asked for full effort prior to straightening before weakening out in the straight.
9 6 ANGELS HUNTER (G193) K C Leung B Steadied after the start & taken back to race with only a few runners behind. Was ridden along from the 500m mark, was effectively last on straightening before weakening a further few lengths to be well beaten.
10 3 EVER LAUGH (A278) C Y Ho B/TT Was trapped racing three wide without cover in midfield throughout. Was a beaten horse before straightening before weakening to be over 10L behind.
11 1 JADE PHOENIX (D179) K Teetan CP/TT Pushed forward, shifted inwards near winning post first time before improving to lead & crossing to rail near 1200m. Was headed soon after straightening before weakening out badly in final 250m to be long last. Poor.
