2 5 THUNDERSTRIKE (E261) Y L Chung B/H Raced just forward of midfield, three wide with cover for the majority. Eased wider just prior to straightening, closed well all the way to share second prize on the line & was only beaten 1.25L.
4 6 TURBO POWER (E270) C Y Ho -- Outpaced soon after the start & was ridden along to hold position between runners along rail. Was a clear last of the main field on corner when over 8L behind before making a huge amount of late ground down the outside late.
5 4 STARRY NIGHT (G253) M Chadwick B Raced very wide in midfield early before improving position to race three deep without cover outside the leaders from the 650m. Was only 2L behind on straightening before giving a length late to finishing fifth.
6 2 PROSECCO (E457) L Hewitson H1/SR1 Steadied & taken back at start, raced in a line of 3 at the tail early before improving after first bend to be worse than midfield. Was 6L from behind on straightening before halving that deficit when running onto midfield.
7 12 TELECOM MISSILE (D209) A Hamelin B/TT Raced in midfield along the rail throughout. Stayed along the inside on straightening when about 3L behind before weakening in final stages to be beaten over 4L.
8 9 VIVA A LA (G282) C L Chau H/P/TT Raced worse than midfield along the rail throughout. Moved off the rail on straightening when over 6L from the lead, finished off only one paced & was no threat.
9 3 MIGHTY VALOR (C338) K C Leung -- Showed speed early before being headed & racing second away from the rail. Continued only a length from the lead on straightening before weakening out quickly in final stages.
10 7 SPEEDSTAR (G181) L Ferraris B Raced in midfield between runners throughout. Cornered 3.5L from the lead but weakened out to be second last.
11 11 MOERAKI (D084) L Currie B/TT Began well but drifted back in early stages & raced just worse than midfield between runners. Stayed along the rail in the straight but did nothing, weakening to be the last horse to finish.
DNF 10 OCTOCONNECT (G056) V Borges B Virtually shared last place after start before losing ground from the 850m & being pulled out of race at half-way. Failed to finish in the straight.
