2 5 GO GO GO (H196) Z Purton P1/TT Raced just worse than midfield along the rail. Switched back towards the inside on straightening, made continual ground and was beaten a very short margin into second on line.
3 8 PRECISION GOAL (H016) H Bentley H-/TT Pushed forward to lead & had a very soft time in front in the middle stages. Was joined by the winner inside last 50m, finished third beaten a short margin.
4 7 LOYAL AMBITION (E489) C Y Ho -- Raced in midfield along the rail. Was 3L from lead entering last section, had clear running on straightening, made steady ground to 4th, beaten under 2L.
5 9 DIAMOND WINNER (H285) A Hamelin H- Got back after start & raced third last in middle stages. Moved very wide on the track at the 400m mark when just under 6L from lead before making late ground down the outside in final stages.
6 11 BROTHER PEARL (H030) A Badel CP Got back after the start & raced a clear second last in the middle stages. Was 6L from the lead entering last section, stayed along rail on straightening, made some late ground along the inside to finish in midfield.
7 4 SUNNY SHINES (H484) E C W Wong -- Steadied after start & taken behind runners to race a clear last. Continued a clear last & nearly 9L from the lead entering last section before making late ground to midfield. Rider questioned regarding vigor – see report.
8 3 NINJA DERBY (H339) Y L Chung H/TT Got head up leaving the straight first time before getting position 1,1. Was hard ridden passing the 600m mark, was held up from on straightening until about the 225m mark before finishing only moderately thereafter.
9 10 FOXHUNTER WAY (E296) M F Poon -- Was trapped racing three wide without cover about 2L from the lead in the middle stages. Peaked on effort soon after straightening before the wide passage took its toll in final furlong.
10 1 SPLENDID STAR (G026) L Ferraris SR-/TT Began only fairly before racing just off of midfield between runners. Drifted slightly further back after 500m, was 6L from lead entering last section, did little in the straight & finished third last.
11 12 SUPER HORNET (G043) B Thompson B-/XB/V1/TT Pushed forward to race outside the leader. Was hard ridden passing the 600m, began weakening before straightening & then gave further ground in the straight and finished second last.
12 6 CIRCUIT ELITE (E487) K C Leung B/TT Began awkwardly before racing three wide with cover in midfield throughout. Was hard ridden from the 550m, was the second widest on straightening before weakening in the straight to finish last.
