Background:
Nichola Yuen joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Trainee Program in 2016 as Trainee Apprentice Jockey, and rode trackwork in Hong Kong for trainers Jimmy Ting, Ricky Yiu, Cody Mo and Manfred Man. She commenced overseas training in South Australia in 2021. Having been attached to Richard Jolly’s stable, she then subsequently moved to Gary Searle, riding over 60 winners at a strike rate above 8%. Yuen completed her training in South Australia in 2024, and then moved to New Zealand for further experience, posting 10 winners at a 10% strike rate. Since September, 2025, Yuen has since been training in South Africa ahead of her full-time move to Hong Kong.
