Racing Incident Report

SEASONS CREST was slow to begin. THANKSGIVING shifted out at the start and bumped M’S MAGIC. Near the 1200 Metres, ISLAND SPRING and BEAUTIFUL SCENERY both became badly unbalanced after making heavy contact. Near the 600 Metres, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY and ISLAND SPRING bumped due to BEAUTIFUL SCENERY attempting to shift out to improve its position. At the entrance to the Straight, SEASONS CREST was shifted to the inside of ISLAND SPRING when disappointed for running between that horse and SUPER GENTLEMAN. NEWSWIRE TOO, which was following, was steadied and shifted ground in consequence. Throughout the race, TELECOM NEW STAR and ISLAND SPRING travelled wide and without cover. The performance of BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on M’S MAGIC at the request of Trainer P O’Sullivan. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, M’S MAGIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPER GENTLEMAN, LOTUS LOVE and SAMMY’S FORTUNE after the race did not show any significant findings. THANKSGIVING and TREASURE GLITTER were sent for sampling.
