Racing Incident Report

1 7 GOLDEN BRILLIANT (K347) On jumping bumped heavily with SMILING ONE due to both runners shifting ground. When commencing a forward move to the outside of KING OF SELECTION near the 450 Metres was bumped and taken wider by KING OF SELECTION when that runner shifted out. Near the 150 Metres shifted in under pressure and bumped ALL ROUND WINNER, resulting in its rider J Moreira having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 MIGHTY STEED (J384) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 1 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) In the early stages raced keenly when being steadied to allow AMAZING AWARD to cross. Near the 150 Metres was bumped by GOLDEN BRILLIANT which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. H Bentley reported that on jumping his saddle slipped back, placing him at some disadvantage during the race.

5 11 EXCELLENT BOY (K435) No report.
6 12 MADE FOR LIFE (L005) On jumping shifted out and made contact with KING OF SELECTION.
7 9 WHOWROTETHATSONG (L048) Bumped at the start and shortly after was then crowded by AMAZING AWARD which shifted out. Leaving the 1400 Metres shifted in and a short distance later became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider. Leaving the 400 Metres shifted in and away from WINNING DATA when it improved into a narrow run.
8 6 SMILING ONE (K336) On jumping made heavy contact with GOLDEN BRILLIANT due to both runners shifting ground. SMILING ONE was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn near the 1200 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid MADE FOR LIFE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 8 INCANTO STAR (K343) Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1500 Metres made contact with KING OF SELECTION when racing tight to the inside of EXCELLENT BOY. J Orman stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 4 AUTOMATED (K177) Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with WHOWROTETHATSONG. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 1400 Metres WINNING DATA, which was initially positioned to the outside of WHOWROTETHATSONG, was then shifted to the inside of WHOWROTETHATSONG (Y L Chung) as that runner commenced to shift in. A short distance later WHOWROTETHATSONG was then corrected by its rider when it shifted in and crowded WINNING DATA in onto AUTOMATED which was also crowded for room. As the Stewards were satisfied that WINNING DATA improved to the inside of WHOWROTETHATSONG as WHOWROTETHATSONG was commencing to shift in, Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care. Leaving the 400 Metres WHOWROTETHATSONG improved into a narrow run to the inside of WINNING DATA. A short distance later WINNING DATA was taken in slightly by INCANTO STAR, resulting in WHOWROTETHATSONG shifting in and away from WINNING DATA, crowding the running of AUTOMATED. Y L Chung was advised in similar circumstances he must ensure that there is sufficient racing room when improving into runs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 10 WINNING DATA (H230) After improving to the inside of WHOWROTETHATSONG was checked leaving the 1400 Metres when crowded by WHOWROTETHATSONG which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Near the 200 Metres was checked when crowded between KING OF SELECTION (C L Chau), which after making contact with INCANTO STAR, then shifted in and SMILING ONE (K C Leung) which shifted out. C L Chau was reprimanded and K C Leung was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.
12 3 KING OF SELECTION (K397) Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1500 Metres was bumped by INCANTO STAR. Shifted out near the 450 Metres and made contact with GOLDEN BRILLIANT.
