Racing Incident Report

TAKE IT EASY was slow to begin and was then checked shortly after the start when crowded for room between GOLDEN BOY and MOUNT SURPLUS which shifted out. Near the 950 Metres, GOLDEN BOY became unbalanced and was steadied when crowded for room between WITHALLMYHEART and MOUNT SURPLUS which after initially being taken out slightly by OPTIC KING shifted out of its own accord. Near the 800 Metres, WINNER shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of WITHALLMYHEART. Making the first turn at the 600 Metres, CHAIN WIN hung out and bumped FIRST DEGREE. CHAIN WIN continued to hang out for some distance after this. Making the first turn after the 600 Metres, NOBLE ZOOM and OPTIC KING were crowded for room inside PERFECT ATHLETE (C W Wong) which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. KING’S CHOICE, which was following NOBLE ZOOM, was steadied in consequence and shifted out, resulting in MOUNT SURPLUS being taken wider. C W Wong was reprimanded and advised, in similar circumstances, to do his utmost to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. Also passing the 600 Metres, TAKE IT EASY was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside WITHALLMYHEART which shifted in slightly. TRANSCENDENCE, which was following, was steadied in consequence. Near the 100 Metres, TRANSCENDENCE was steadied away from the heels of PERFECT ATHLETE and shifted to the inside of that horse to obtain clear running. WITHALLMYHEART and OPTIC KING were sent for sampling.
