Racing Incident Report

JOYFUL SPIRIT, which was restless after being boxed and when the gates opened had its head turned slightly to the left side, was slowly away. EVER MORE jumped awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. When EVER MORE shifted out at the start, some inconvenience was caused to SUNSHINE BAMBOO and LEPRECHAUN TOO. When the gates opened, SONGS OF THE SUN bounded in the air, then hung in badly throughout. SHANGHAI FRIEND was slowly away. About the 900 Metres, LEPRECHAUN TOO was steadied when close to the heels of SUNSHINE BAMBOO. SUNSHINE BAMBOO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported that SUNSHINE BAMBOO was bleeding from both nostrils. Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he noted SONGS OF THE SUN had sustained lacerations to the outside of its near side front cannon.
