Racing Incident Report

EXCELLENCE and FAT CHANCE were slow to begin. At the 800 Metres, GOOD CHANCE became unbalanced, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of FAT CHANCE. After the 800 Metres, DO IT WELL was checked to avoid the heels of MASCOT (Apprentice P H Lo) which after crossing to the fence in the lead was steadied. Apprentice P H Lo was told in similar circumstances he should refrain from steadying too abruptly after reaching the lead. For some distance approaching the 500 Metres, FAT CHANCE and EXCELLENCE raced tight. At the 500 Metres, FAT CHANCE was checked when crowded for room by EXCELLENCE which became unbalanced and shifted in abruptly away from EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT. In the circumstances, no action was taken. SPEED AT EASE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was noted SPEED AT EASE had bled from both nostrils. EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT, MASCOT and DO IT WELL were sent for sampling.
