Racing Incident Report

UNBELIEVABLE began awkwardly and got its head up. MANSFIELD STAR began awkwardly and then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between DJEREED which shifted in after being bumped by FIRST KNIGHT and RICARDO which was taken out by TIME OF RED WINE. Because of this incident, MANSFIELD STAR got well back. In the circumstances, no action was taken. From the outside gate, RISING WIN was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail. After the 800 Metres, RICARDO was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside MANSFIELD STAR which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHEVAL D'OR. At the 300 Metres, DJEREED, which was giving ground, was checked to avoid the heels of MANSFIELD STAR (Apprentice M W Leung) which after having difficulty obtaining a clear run shifted to the inside of ADVANCE AHEAD to go forward. Apprentice M W Leung was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to exercise more care. Approaching the 200 Metres, ADVANCE AHEAD and MANSFIELD STAR hung in. GOODWOOD and METRO FLYER were sent for sampling.
