Racing Incident Report

FREE WAY was withdrawn on 28.5.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPOKESMAN (C Brown). Before being allowed to race again, FREE WAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Just prior to the gates opening, MIGHTY POWER became fractious, got its head up and consequently was slow to begin. On jumping, ON SHAN EXPRESS was bumped by KING OF TURBOT which was bumped and carried wider by GOLD MASTER which began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. As a consequence of this, KING OF TURBOT and ON SHAN EXPRESS became unbalanced and lost ground. From the outside barrier, GOOD TO GREAT raced wide and without cover throughout. In the early stages, KINGSTON GLORY hung in. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, GOLD MASTER was checked away from the heels of KINGSTON GLORY when proving difficult to settle. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, MIGHTY POWER got its head up, hung out and was steadied away from the heels of SPOKESMAN. After the 200 Metres, WINNING ATTORNEY, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between WISDOM EXPRESS and WONDERFUL BOY which at this time shifted to the outside of CONSTELLATION into clear running. At the 100 Metres, KINGSTON GLORY and GOLD MASTER bumped. For the major part of the race, NOBLE VICTORY raced wide and without cover, making the Home Turn hung out, then in the Straight gave ground while continuing to hang. NOBLE VICTORY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NOBLE VICTORY after the race did not show any significant findings. WONDERFUL BOY and CONSTELLATION were sent for sampling.
