Racing Incident Report

On jumping CASH BABY and MAN ON THE MOON bumped. Also on jumping, MODERN INTEREST was bumped by FANTASTICO. NEW TAMAR was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between LUCKY TRIO and RACING SPIRIT. KE JIA WANG began awkwardly and shifted out. WIN HUNTER began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall, causing F Coetzee, its rider, to momentarily lose the use of his right stirrup. CHOSEN ONE was slow to begin. At the 700 Metres, MAN ON THE MOON was steadied when awkwardly placed between RACING SPIRIT and CASH BABY which was hanging out. Over about the final 100 Metres, RACING SPIRIT hung in. LUCKY TRIO hung in throughout. MAN ON THE MOON was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MAN ON THE MOON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MAN ON THE MOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPEED FIGHTER and RACING SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
