Racing Incident Report

MOMENTOUS was withdrawn on 14.3.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WHIPLASH (B Doyle). Before being allowed to race again, MOMENTOUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WAIT FOR ME, THE GOODIES and BAAZIGAR were slow to begin. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, ROCKET FORCE was left racing wide and without cover. At the 500 Metres, SUPERNOVA was steadied away from the heels of WHIPLASH. In the early part of the Straight, MING HOI TREASURE proved reluctant to shift out from behind WISE LOVER. Approaching the 300 Metres, BAAZIGAR, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted wider on the track. WHIPLASH, CHINA LUJIA and HAPPY AMBASSADOR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WHIPLASH, CHINA LUJIA and HAPPY AMBASSADOR after the race did not show any significant findings. HOME TREASURE and MING HOI TREASURE were sent for sampling.
