Racing Incident Report

WINMARK was withdrawn on 21.1.03 on veterinary grounds (lame both hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WINNING ASSOCIATES (D Whyte). Before WINMARK can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. HOWSON was slow to begin. About the 1400 Metres, GIDDY KIPPER, which for some distance had been racing tight on the outside of PREDATOR and to the inside of UNITY, was unable to hold its position and was momentarily steadied. At the 1200 Metres, UNITY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of FIGARO. Near the 600 Metres, GIDDY KIPPER endeavoured to shift to the outside of UNITY to obtain running, was unable to do so and was then steadied when disappointed for running between UNITY and WINNING ASSOCIATES. Making the Home Turn, HOWSON was held up for a run behind PREDATOR and to the inside of GIDDY KIPPER, then shortly after straightening was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between GIDDY KIPPER and PREDATOR. At the 200 Metres, HOWSON was again steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside PREDATOR. At about the 200 Metres, UNITY, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPORT SEEKER after being carried out by FIGARO which was taken out by DRAGON WIN which in turn was taken out by OPTIC DYNAMIC. No action was taken. WINNING ASSOCIATES, INCREDIBLE and DRAGON WIN were sent for sampling.
