Racing Incident Report

KAISER'S CHOIX began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, FIRST BABY, which was inclined to hang in, was steadied after bumping with PROFIT HILL. Also shortly after the start, AMBITIOUS LEADER was steadied away from the heels of THUNDER STORM. At the 600 Metres, AMBITIOUS LEADER was steadied away from the heels of FIRST BABY. Prior to straightening, KAISER'S CHOIX was checked when crowded for room inside PROFIT HILL (D Nikolic) which shifted in slightly. D Nikolic was told to exercise greater care. FIRST BABY, which was following KAISER'S CHOIX, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse. In the Straight, FIRST BABY hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, FLYING KENNY travelled wide and without cover. S Dye (KAISER'S CHOIX) said his mount did not show the early pace expected of it and travelled further back than anticipated. He said while KAISER'S CHOIX travelled comfortably, it failed to respond when placed under pressure in the Straight and in his opinion was disappointing. KAISER'S CHOIX was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KAISER'S CHOIX after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN WIN, BEAUTY PLUS and BODACIOUS were sent for sampling.
