Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, FANTASTICO became fractious and reared. This resulted in W C Marwing striking his back on the upright. FANTASTICO was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations it was decided FANTASTICO was suitable to race. However, before FANTASTICO can run again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After the race, W C Marwing was examined by the Club's doctor who said at the time of the examination he was fit to continue with his engagements. NEW DYNASTY left the gates very awkwardly and threw its head about, then hung out throughout. About the 1200 Metres, FORTUNE TYCOON was steadied to avoid the heels of FANTASTICO which was being taken in by STERLING CHANCE (K C Tsang) which was shifting towards the rail when not quite clear. K C Tsang was severely reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care when shifting ground. In the Straight, PLEASANT SUCCESS raced ungenerously and hung in, because of this at about the 200 Metres M Cahill stopped riding and changed his whip hand. Also in the Straight, REAL DRAGON raced ungenerously and shifted ground. FANTASTICO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he noted a moderate amount of blood in the trachea of FANTASTICO.
