Racing Incident Report

As B Avdulla was unable to fulfil the engagement on VANQUISHER due to being overweight, K C Leung was substituted as the rider of that horse. Jockey Avdulla was fined the sum of $5,000.
GOLDEN BULL was slow to begin.
HO HO STAR jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
DRAGON DELIGHT was briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres.
For a short distance near the 150 Metres, THE GOOD DEAL was awkwardly placed close to LUCKY QUALITY when that runner gave ground.
When questioned, Z Purton (GREENWICH) stated that his mount jumped awkwardly as the start was effected and as a result lost ground. He said consequently he was obliged to take cover towards the rear of the field in the early stages. He added after making ground from the 600 Metres GREENWICH was able to improve into the Home Straight and would derive benefit from today’s performance.
A veterinary inspection of HO HO STAR and VANQUISHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
READY TO WIN and GREENWICH were sent for sampling.
