Racing Incident Report

LUCKY BIRD was slow to begin. JADE RUYI bounded in the air at the start. MONEY EXPRESS began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of AMICABLE. On jumping, BAUHINIA shifted out and bumped KASHMAC. After this, BAUHINIA was hard ridden to go forward and lead. LA MERVEILLE was slow to muster speed in the early stages and near the winning post on the first occasion was steadied and shifted in to a position behind LAZY BUDDIES. Making the first turn, PERFECT GALLANT hung out. Near the 250 Metres, LUCKY BIRD was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside JADE RUYI. In the Straight, MONEY EXPRESS hung in. Throughout the race, TEA FOR CHAMP raced wide and without cover and from the 600 Metres gave ground and finished tailed out. TEA FOR CHAMP was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TEA FOR CHAMP was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was coughing and an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of TEA FOR CHAMP was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, TEA FOR CHAMP will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AMICABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of AMICABLE after the race did not show any significant findings. BAUHINIA, DASH FOR VICTORIES and LAZY BUDDIES were sent for sampling.
