Racing Incident Report

KING HOGAN and CHINOOK were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, FAST TRACK, FANTASTIC WIN and PILLOW KING lost ground when crowded for room between DRAGON STRIDE and GLORIOUS RHYTHM which on jumping shifted out abruptly. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FANTASTIC WIN and NICKU NICKU bumped and became unbalanced when crowded for room inside KING HOGAN which got its head on the side and lay in. Shortly after straightening, NICKU NICKU was steadied when momentarily held up for clear running between DRAGON STRIDE and KING HOGAN. At the 150 Metres, QUALITY-QUALITY, which was shifting in attempting to find clear running, was steadied when disappointed for running between TRIUMPH and CHINOOK which at this time shifted out. At the 100 Metres, FAST TRACK, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted to the outside of GLORIOUS RHYTHM to continue going forward. Throughout the race, DRAGON STRIDE travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. DRAGON STRIDE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, DRAGON STRIDE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. TRIUMPH was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPH after the race did not show any significant findings. MIRACULOUS and KING HOGAN were sent for sampling.
