Racing Incident Report

MOCHI was withdrawn on 7.11.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (ulcer to left eye) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FIERY RAIDER. Before being allowed to race again, MOCHI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ASSURE began awkwardly. Approaching the 800 Metres, SHANGHAI PIONEER shifted out towards SHAREMA FEELING which became unbalanced. Near the 150 Metres, FIERY RAIDER, which was giving ground, was momentarily crowded for room between TEAM WORK which was taken out by SAMMY’S FALCON and ORIENTAL COURSER which shifted in. Over the concluding stages, EL GRANDE got its head on the side and lay in, resulting in SHANGHAI PIONEER being hampered. For the majority of the race, FIERY RAIDER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the race, Z Purton reported that SHAREMA FEELING was not comfortable in its action and was making an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of SHAREMA FEELING after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SHAREMA FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of FIERY RAIDER after the race did not show any significant findings. GAMEKEEPERS, ORIENTAL COURSER and ROCKET PROUD were sent for sampling.
