Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, ARRIBA-ARRIBA stood flat-footed and lost a lot of ground. The performance of ARRIBA-ARRIBA was considered by the Stewards to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. AUTHORISED, which was restless after being boxed, jumped awkwardly, then for some time in the early stages proved difficult to settle and threw its head about. In the early stages, MIDAS KING also proved difficult to settle, shifted ground and as a consequence inconvenience was caused to ZABETTE. Just after the 800 Metres, STAR OF TAI PO was steadied to avoid the heels of SINCERE AND FAITH which shifted in when barely clear. Also just after the 800 Metres, SOUND GALLOP became unbalanced on the heels of WILFRED'S NEW PET which was taken in slightly by UNIVERSAL CHARGER. In the circumstances, no action was taken. About the 500 Metres, UNIVERSAL CHARGER shifted out in an endeavour to go forward from behind CLEVER CITATION and made contact with MIDAS KING. On pulling up, R Fradd was dislodged from ZABETTE. R Fradd was examined by the Club's doctor and permitted to fulfil his further engagements. UNIVERSAL CHARGER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
