Racing Incident Report

C Soumillon (X-SPEED) was fined $4,000 for initially presenting himself at scale without a body protector [Rule 59(6)]. TRAVIANO began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. From a wide barrier, MAGIC TEMPLE was taken across behind runners. Making the first turn, POSA raced awkwardly inside BEST CHOICE. On straightening, MAGIC TEMPLE was steadied and shifted to the outside of MAGIC TOUCH into clear running. For some distance after straightening, TEMMOKU had difficulty obtaining clear running inside SEA TREASURE and outside MADE IN HONGKONG. At the 200 Metres, DURABLE was steadied away from the heels of MADE IN HONGKONG. Close to the line, FORTUNE GOLD was steadied when close to the heels of MADE IN HONGKONG which shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, FORTUNE GOLD travelled wide and without cover. X-SPEED was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. X-SPEED, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was blowing heavily and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, X-SPEED will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEST CHOICE and SEA TREASURE were sent for sampling.
