Racing Incident Report

KOWLOON PRIDE was withdrawn on 29.6.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPLENDID CHAMPION. Before being allowed to race again, KOWLOON PRIDE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. In the early stages, LUCKY PHOTO FRAME failed to muster pace and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of BEAUTIFUL CHOICE which shifted in slightly. Near the 850 Metres, THAT`S IT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPLENDID CHAMPION. At the 800 Metres, GRANDWAY FLYER was severely checked away from the heels of SAMMY`S FALCON which itself was steadied away from the heels of FUN AND FAST. In this incident, GRANDWAY FLYER shifted out, taking DIVINE KID wider. Approaching the 600 Metres, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE was bumped on the hindquarters by SPLENDID CHAMPION which at this time attempted to improve to the outside of BATURO where there was insufficient room. Throughout the race, DIVINE KID travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY PHOTO FRAME after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse`s trachea. A veterinary inspection of SPLENDID CHAMPION after the race did not show any significant findings. CHEERFUL DOUBLE, DIVINE KID and BEAUTIFUL CHOICE were sent for sampling.
