Racing Incident Report

ALWAYS ZIETEN was slowly away. On jumping, CYBER WISDOM threw its head up. In the early and middle stages, ALWAYS ZIETEN hung in very badly and proved difficult to ride, then about the 600 Metres shifted to the rail. About the 1000 Metres, PLEASANT SUCCESS was unbalanced when crowded by MILLENNIUM LEGEND which was momentarily taken in by ALWAYS ZIETEN. Near the 500 Metres, PLEASANT SUCCESS was steadied and shifted out to avoid ALWAYS ZIETEN. Also near the 500 Metres, THE BEST WINNER was steadied when crowded for room between CALVADOS and CYBER WISDOM which shifted out from behind MILLENNIUM LEGEND. Near the 400 Metres, MILLENNIUM LEGEND was steadied when crowded for room between MEGA-FIGHTER and POPULAR CHOICE which shifted out from behind PLEASANT SUCCESS. In the Straight, PLEASANT SUCCESS hung in. M Cahill (THE BEST WINNER) said the horse appeared abnormally distressed on pulling up. Accordingly he dismounted and the horse was led back to scale. The Veterinary Surgeon said an endoscopic examination of THE BEST WINNER revealed a significant amount of blood in the windpipe, however, in his opinion the horse should not be deemed to be an official bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, THE BEST WINNER will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. TATTENHALL was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
