Racing Incident Report

C K Tong stated that as the start was effected, BOUNCER was leaning against the outside of its stall. He said as a result BOUNCER began very awkwardly, resulting in his left foot being tightened onto the left side barrier gate. He said due to the manner in which BOUNCER began, the horse lost a considerable amount of ground and became detached from the field. Before being allowed to race again, BOUNCER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. As the start was effected, LUCKY RED reared, as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground and became detached from the field. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY RED will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. RIVER JORDAN and DIAMOND KNIGHT were slow to begin. ISLAND SPEED knuckled over on jumping. Rounding the Home Turn, NORMAN INVADER hung out and shifted wider on the track. A veterinary inspection of BOUNCER after the race did not show any significant findings. NORMAN INVADER, DIAMOND BRILLIANCE and BUNDLE O’ GOLD were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ISLAND SPEED was lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND SPEED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
