Racing Incident Report

LUCKY SUPERSTAR was withdrawn on 17.4.03 on veterinary grounds (mild fever) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TURF LUCK (D Dunn). On jumping, MASTERY and CHEERS WINNER bumped. SUNNY RIVIERA was slow to begin and then making the turn at the 600 Metres hung out. In the early stages, ROUND THE WORLD proved difficult to settle and at the winning post the first time got its head up when close to the heels of MY FAVOURITE. At about the 1500 Metres, CHEERS WINNER, which was proving difficult to settle, was checked to avoid the heels of NEVER SAY NEVER (Apprentice K T Yeung) which shifted in when not clear. In the circumstances, Apprentice K T Yeung was severely reprimanded and told he must ensure he is clear of other runners before shifting ground. At the 600 Metres, MY FAVOURITE was momentarily steadied when awkward inside the heels of MASTERY. Shortly after straightening, MY FAVOURITE was steadied when disappointed for running between MASTERY and ROUND THE WORLD. After this, MY FAVOURITE was shifted in to obtain a clear run. CZAR OF PRUSSIA and TURF LUCK were sent for sampling.
