Racing Incident Report

Mr D Oughton, Trainer of ESPRESSO, was fined $2,000 for allowing D Whyte to be declared to ride both ESPRESSO and BASIC INSTINCT. Mr Oughton had neglected to notify his assistant to confirm the ride with D Whyte. HAPPY FOREVER, which was restless after being boxed, jumped awkwardly with its head up. Approaching the 800 Metres, VICTORY MOUNT lost its position after being awkwardly placed between DR MORE and LUCKY NUMBER which was hanging in away from PROJECTSTAR. About the 600 Metres, LUCKY NUMBER became unbalanced when crowded between KING OF TOYS and PROJECTSTAR (C Brown) which momentarily shifted in. DR MORE and HAPPY FOREVER which were following were checked in consequence. When HAPPY FOREVER checked, some inconvenience was caused to VICTORY MOUNT. After considering all the circumstances, it was decided not to take any direct action, but C Brown was reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care when shifting ground. Near the 300 Metres, DR MORE was checked and shifted out when disappointed for running inside KING OF TOYS. KEV BUSHIDO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that FISHERMAN'S CREEK had bled from both nostrils. Following the race, it was reported that PROJECTSTAR had sustained lacerations to both hind legs.
