Racing Incident Report

GLOBAL WAY was slow to begin and then shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of WHIPLASH. On jumping, CLASSABOVE and SPOKESMAN were checked when crowded for room between MASTER MAJOR which initially shifted out and LUCKY DRAGON which shifted in. WISE LOVER was slow into stride. From the outside gate, SIAMERIC TE SPECSO was taken across behind runners. At the 700 Metres, SPOKESMAN was steadied away from the heels of LIFELINE RAPIDE. On straightening, WHIPLASH was hampered and carried wider by WISE LOVER (D Whyte) which at this time shifted to the outside of LUCKY DRAGON to obtain clear running. D Whyte was told to exercise care when obtaining clear running. From on straightening until the 150 Metres, MASTER MAJOR was held up and unable to obtain clear running when racing behind MULTI-WIN SPIRIT and LUCKY DANSKE. WISE LOVER and WHIPLASH were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported MULTI-WIN SPIRIT was making an abnormal breathing noise and it was confirmed to be a "roarer".
