Racing Incident Report

LUCKY YEAR and BEAT THE CLOCK began only fairly.
After the 1000 Metres, D B PIN was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 200 Metres BEAT THE CLOCK was shifted out away from the heels of BLIZZARD to obtain clear running.
When questioned regarding the performance of LUCKY BUBBLES, H Bowman stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s disappointing run. He said although the race was not run at a good tempo, LUCKY BUBBLES settled satisfactorily in the early stages with the blinkers applied for the first time today, however, did not quicken as it had when he had ridden the horse in the past. He said LUCKY BUBBLES was then disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY BUBBLES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
