6 4 GOLDEN ACE (L461) Lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. B Avdulla reported that after settling back in the field and the early and middle stages of the race being run outside of standard time his mount finished the race off reasonably well and he was satisfied with its performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 5 KOL (L319) After being crossed by TOP TO SKY near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied to avoid TOP TO SKY. When under pressure near the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between HEALTHY HEALTHY and MALPENSA, both of which shifted ground. Z Purton stated that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, raced ungenerously and would derive benefit from tonight’s experience on the Happy Valley circuit. Trainer D A Hayes stated that he had expected the horse to perform well, particularly as it had previously trialed at Happy Valley. He said subsequent to the comments of Jockey Purton he would now look to start the horse at Sha Tin at its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 6 SPICY BONUS (L086) Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 12 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) Jumped only fairly.
10 7 HERO MASTERMIND (L391) In the early and middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid GOLDEN ACE. L Hewitson advised that from the outside barrier his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner, particularly as HERO MASTERMIND was having its first race start at Happy Valley. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued.
11 1 HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 8 ENJOY GOLF (J222) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
