Racing Incident Report

HIGH FIVE, which was restless in the gates, came out awkwardly and then was unbalanced when close to the hindquarters of GOLDEN SPIRIT. From a difficult gate, NON SEQUITUR was obliged to race wide throughout and was not able to find any cover. About the 400 Metres, VICTORY MOUNT was steadied and shifted out to avoid NON SEQUITUR which was giving ground. About the 200 Metres, HAPPY FORTUNE, which was closing the race off nicely, was steadied and shifted in abruptly to avoid SINCERE AND FAITH which was giving ground. After the 200 Metres, H K Yim (HIGH FIVE) dropped his whip. Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, Mr T P Wong, trainer of MASCOT TREASURE, and Apprentice S K Sit, rider, sought permission to view the available video films as they considered there might have been grounds to object against the winner alleging interference in the Straight. After viewing the films, both Mr Wong and Apprentice Sit agreed on this occasion it would be inappropriate to proceed with a formal objection. Accordingly weighed-in was semaphored.
