Racing Incident Report

Near the 600 Metres, SIROCCO shifted out away from BOBO DUCK. As a consequence of this, TAMAR shifted ground and made contact with OCEAN ACROSS. For a short distance about the 500 Metres, BOBO DUCK was awkward just inside the heels of VICTORY WARRIOR. Rounding the latter part of the turn and in the early part of the Straight, VICTORY WARRIOR was inclined to hang out. In the Straight, GREEN CENTURY raced ungenerously, got its head up and hung out. As a consequence of this, D Whyte stopped riding several times. K S Yu (VICTORY WARRIOR) explained in the Straight the saddle shifted forward, this placed him at a disadvantage and he was not able to ride the horse out as he normally would. GREEN CENTURY and PLENTY OF LUCK were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that VICTORY WARRIOR had sustained a laceration to its off side front heel. He also said he noted a moderate amount of mucus in the trachea of PLENTY OF LUCK when he examined the horse after the race.
