Racing Incident Report

MARANELLO was withdrawn on 26.9.03 on veterinary grounds (left fore tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, MARANELLO will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. D Whyte (COOL SWING) declared at scale that he had included a chamois in the gear with which he was weighing out. It was noted when the horse was presented at the Parade Ring, no chamois was included in the packing under the saddle. D Whyte was re-weighed prior to COOL SWING leaving the Parade Ring. It was established that as D Whyte in actual fact had weighed out without the chamois in his gear and therefore no action was taken. When the gates opened, GALLANT HORSE bounded in the air and on landing shifted out abruptly across COOL SWING which as a result was checked. GALLANT HORSE then shifted out further, resulting in HAPPY YEARS being inconvenienced and carried wider. CENDAMY was slow to begin and on jumping bumped the outside gate of its stall. FORTUNE BOY, EASY GAME and SUPER CHARGE were slow to begin. Near the 600 Metres, KEV BUSHIDO was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between FOUR ACES which shifted out slightly and SIR OCTAVIUS which when being ridden along got its head on the side and shifted in slightly away from COOL SWING which itself shifted ground. After the 200 Metres, when placed under pressure, SUPER CHARGE hung out. FOUR ACES and CENDAMY were sent for sampling.
