Racing Incident Report

BEST NEWS was slowly away. MAGIC WIN left the gates awkwardly and shifted out. On jumping, EVER GAIN was crowded for room between QUI VIVRA VERRA and FAIR COMMENT. MAJESTIC CONQUEROR jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of PERFECT CHAMPION. Just after the start, G Mossé (PERFECT CHAMPION) shifted the whip rather abruptly from his left hand into his right hand. After this, PERFECT CHAMPION was ridden along in an endeavour to go forward and get in, but was unable to do so and was obliged to race wide throughout. In the middle stages, EVER GAIN proved very difficult to settle, threw its head about and on several occasions was awkward on the heels of FAIR COMMENT. Near the 600 Metres, CROWN REGENT and PERFECT CHAMPION came together as CROWN REGENT shifted out to go forward. On the latter part of the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, EVER GAIN got its head on the side and hung in onto the heels of FAIR COMMENT. After the race, it was reported that EVER GAIN was bleeding from both nostrils.
