Racing Incident Report

The Veterinary Surgeon said MAGICAL WARRIOR appeared "fresh" in the parade, on entering the track got down and became very fractious. The horse regained its feet, but repeatedly got back down. Acting on veterinary advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MAGICAL WARRIOR. Before being allowed to race again, MAGICAL WARRIOR will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. Near the 600 Metres, FRENCH FRY brushed the running rail. Near the 400 Metres, CUPID shifted out and brushed TURBOJET. After the 200 Metres, E Saint-Martin (CUPID) dropped his whip and K H Ting (HAPPY FORTUNE) momentarily dropped his near side rein. D Whyte (MONZA KING) was unable to put forward any real reason for the horse's poor run. He did say there was a possibility MONZA KING did not handle tonight's track conditions. He also said in its races the horse does have a tendency at times to drop the bit, but usually when pressured will respond. Tonight however this did not happen, in the middle stages the horse was reluctant to stretch out, when put under pressure failed to respond and was generally very disappointing. MONZA KING and MAGICAL WARRIOR were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
