Racing Incident Report

LUCKY TWINS began very awkwardly, resulting in H K Yim, its rider, becoming unbalanced. STRATEGIC SELECT was slow to begin. From the outside gate, SILVERBIRD was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position on the fence. In the early stages, ASALI proved difficult to settle and hung out, near the 1200 Metres got its head up and shifted out, causing INDUBITABLY BLISS to be carried wider. After this, INDUBITABLY BLISS raced wide and without cover. Also in the early stages, SUPER SPRINT proved difficult to settle and after the 1200 Metres when being steadied away from the heels of REWARD lost some ground. KING OF FISH, which was following, was shifted from the fence to a position two wide away from the heels of SUPER SPRINT. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, ASALI, which was continuing to hang, shifted out. For some distance after the 200 Metres, SEASONS TREASURE was unable to obtain clear running between MASTERY and KING OF FISH. As Trainer C H Yip had left the course, the Stewards will allow him an opportunity of explaining the improved performance of STRATEGIC SELECT at the Sha Tin Racecourse next Sunday 2 November 2003. INDUBITABLY BLISS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, INDUBITABLY BLISS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse returned mildly distressed. KING OF FISH, STRATEGIC SELECT and ASALI were sent for sampling.
