Racing Incident Report

From the outside barrier, OPERA MAGIC was taken across behind runners. Shortly after the start, HIGHLAND DAWN and SIR OCTAVIUS were momentarily crowded for room outside NEW TRIUMPH which shifted out. In the early and middle stages, FAST TRACK travelled wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, EUPHORIC KID was hampered and carried into a three wide position without cover by FLORAL PRINCE (O Doleuze) which at this time shifted out from behind HAPPY SUNDAY which was steadied away from the heels of SHINING DRAGON. O Doleuze was told to exercise care. After the 600 Metres, GENERAL SPEEDEE was steadied when awkwardly placed between OPERA MAGIC and FAST TRACK which shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages, NEW TRIUMPH hung in. MY PRIDE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MY PRIDE after the race did not show any significant findings. PROPELLOR and FLORAL PRINCE were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GENERAL SPEEDEE at the request of Trainer T K Ng. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea.
